 The Candleshop Inn Bed and Breakfast and Holistic Retreat Center overlooks the sparkling blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean at Short Sands Beach in York Beach, Maine. Pictured in the background of our pages is the beach you can walk to from the Inn (click here for view without green overlay). Each of our 10 guest rooms is unique and comfortably decorated, accommodating two to five people in twin, double and/or king beds (please see Room Descriptions for details). Five rooms offer stunning ocean views.

Each morning you'll be treated to a sumptuous homemade buffet style vegetarian breakfast prepared by Innkeeper Barbara Sheff and her staff. We will tailor breakfast to meet special dietary needs and for vegan diets. We welcome families, children of all ages, solo travelers, and couples looking for a quiet escape.

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise, or join Barbara for a 7:30 AM Yoga class on the deck or at the beach. You might also want to consider scheduling a therapeutic massage, Reiki session or aromatherapy treatment in our Spa Room. After breakfast, relax on the front porch, center yourself in the Japanese meditation gardens, or stroll down-town to explore Main Street with its many shops and restaurants, and of course the beach with its adjacent playground and Bandstand. Nearby are other areas of interest including York Beach, York Harbor, York, Cape Neddick, and Ogunquit.

York Beach is truly a family destination in the beautiful southern Maine area. We welcome family reunions, celebrations, and private retreats. Enjoy a totally smoke-free environment at Candleshop Bed & Breakfast Inn and Holistic Retreat Center.
